Even though I've only actually used the BBS a few times, I've had this account for 3 years and I know what happens.
One of my topics was locked for no good reason.
I had to pm whoever locked it because there wasn't a good explanation and I couldn't even figure out what I did wrong.
Glad to see you're making a stand though!
Motherfuck, I hate everything. Attempt to be less lonely by spending time on the BBS= big fat fail. Everyday I hear about someone great leaving. Now you too. I thought I could go to the BBS to see people I was familiar with who were smart and creative but things aren't going that way. Maybe this is really perpetual.
Well what makes it easier to leave is that I have so many of the great people I've met through NG on MSN or Facebook or something similar. Try PMing some of the users you like or look up to, it sometimes better to have a one on one chat than just throw a post out their in the forum.
I doubt you'll be reading this, but it's worth a shot.
You shouldn't be so negative towards the BBS currently, it has it's ups and downs all the time and the most you can do is take a long needed break from it to cool your bolts at the moment. It happens to me all the time (I'm currently going through a brief relapse at the moment) - yeah sure the Moderators aren't all perfect, but that's life. Why should a volunteer to a job be perfect? They shouldn't.
When you don't like something, you don't like it. Just take a break, watch the mod team change around a bit and see if they change their ways. If you don't like it and leave it months and months and months, you will eventually part ways from the website without realizing it and that's a common ultimatum for a lot of users. It's sad to see it, but more and more users will come and replace them as "regs".
Don't beat about the bush about it though, I think it's great you're still using the site for other things most people just get downright butthurt and try to leave altogether so I respect you as a friend for that.
Just listen to what the "good" Moderators are telling you in your News Post because they're the ones who are actually listening to the users and want to act towards the feedback. They are the ones in my eyes that deserve their positions (not saying that those who don't post won't deserve it, I can name many who still do), but you know what I mean.
Aside from all that, you was decent. I'll still see you around of course and hope to see you back at the BBS soon! Hopefully when I'm active again!

I agree that we can be happy with these volunteers, but you have to admit, it give a certain feel of power. And power (can) corrupt.

We could use a bit more audio moderation too.
I hope that the staff can find some time to look into these things.
At the audio forum we get a new forum topic abotu every 3 days, asking how long approval takes.

I think your post sums up most of my concerns with the BBS. Some people have effectively taken the fun out of it. I'm glad Wade is aware of these problems and will hopefully remedy to them.
There must be some Overmind out there, I'm sure of it. What else would explain all these users leaving at the same time?
Well...it sucks that you're leaving, but then again, I see no reason why anyone should stay. This place has been getting really dull, but for some reason I come here everday. Sometime it's the only thing I do everytime I sit my ass in front of the computer. My guess is that I won't be leaving this place anytime soon, but letting my brain get sucked in by that Overmind sounds more appealing by the day.
Anyway, I've ran out of relatively-smart stuff to say, so goodbye Willi.

I fully sympathize with you, having been on the exact same road a zillion times.
I admire your courage; I too have felt trapped because of the dickholes that run this place yet I have no other place to legally post the Flash I like to make.
Heres to the prime years of the bbs. You and Ashfordpride were some of the funniest bastards, and it's complete bullshit what goes on with the mods. The good un's left, and now it's just a pile of crap ready to be towed away for more bandwith.
The BBs has taken a turn for the worst for a while.But you were one of the regulars who I was more familiar with, you were original and funny.The BBS will lack a lot without you and without many regulars who are leaving.
