Fantasticic

Whilst the flash was loading (took a while what with the all the anime porn I had downloading) I noticed all the negative reviews calling you out for attacking a beloved artist on NewGrounds and that the only good short was the first one.

This was when I knew it was going to be good.

Pretty ironic that the same audience you rip apart for gobbling up every new installment of Brawl taunts is sitting there drooling as the joke flies over there head, only to perk up interest at the slightest suggestion of tits or sex.
This was actually funnier than most of the other parody type flash thing cartoons that are made and for the most of them the animation was far better than Brawling Tauntings. I especially enjoyed the one in the balloon, gave me a good chuckle.
There's nothing wrong with doing flash about video games of course, if they're done well, which Brawl taunts is not. Why it's so popular confuses me, maybe it's something to do with a girl being involved.
Anywho I must be off, shan't be watching part two as there are forums I need to be arguing on over if Cloud having sex with Aeris is canon and there's only so many hours in the day FUCK IS THAT KNUCKLES MUSIC STILL PLAYING I THOUGHT I CLOSED THAT WINDOW DAMN

Very good idea

Great first episode

Very stylish, everything was well drawn, the characters were original and the animation was smooth and consistent. The voice work was good and I liked the constant change of pace, there was never the same shot or background for more than a short period of time, which was great.

Only criticisms would be the 'random' character Kook. Characters that are there just to say random words can usually just come off as annoying, not always, and he didn't all through the piece, just some parts. It doesn't work just to have a character say something irrelevant without rhyme or reason.

Other than that nice work, look forward to part DEUX.

oryozema responds:

well, in part 1b he doesn't say totally random stuff but instead he says things to make matters worse or just awkward...

Well, it wasn't Awesome...

First let me just say that for the most part it was fairly well animated, consistent and smooth throughout most of the flash, there's not much to quabble about there. The voices too were well done and good quality, for the lines they were given, and were one of the better parts of watching it.

Now, first to address the glaring issue of Egoraptor. Yeah sure it's hard today to make a video game parody and not be accused of copying him. In most cases it's wrong and people are just doing what they have always done on NG, take the piss out of Video Games. However the similarities in this flash are just too blatant that it's clear it's trying to be an 'Awesome' flash. The art style is extremely similiar, as well as the composition and the pacing in general. You made Grand Theft Awesome so I assume you have respect for the man, but it's better to create a tribute rather than pass off a style as your own.

The jokes themselves were lacking. I mean racism? Seriously? None of it had any relevance aside from the fact that Louis is black. At first I thought it might be satire on the fact that Louis is a stereotypical black character, except he isn't apart from the occasional 'DAYUM'. I'm sure drawing any black character with a bucket of KFC will ilicit a few laughs from the knuckle-draggers but it's hardly a worthy trade-off for the integrity of the piece. Aside from that there were a few giggling moments, dick jokes and projectile vomiting, sure. Just seems like there could've been so much more in here since there's so much more to the game. Maybe you didn't want to alienate people who hadn't played the game, but the people watching this will probably have played it anyway and being included in 'oh yeah that bit haha' moments that only people who have played the game will get is what make Video Game parodies good.

The selling of T-shirts and warning not to steal it also comes across a bit arrogant considering you have no idea how popular it'll be yet, though I'm sure it will be. Merchandise should be there to cater to demand, not just slapped on in hopes of making a couple of extra bucks.

It could've been something good, but I just wasn't seeing what would make this stand out from the rest of the crowd. Either that or this is actually a clever satire and I've fallen for it. Either way, you're a great animator and can do better than this.

Oney responds:

read the racism comment. its poking fun at the racists themselves on the internet, not black people.

I laughed so hard at Jimmy Carr

This style is great and fits so well, and the jokes were better than those 'Awesome' series has been getting.
Can't go wrong with video game parodies on NG!

lenkalamari responds:

Thanks dude.

I loved that pokemon cartoon thing you made a while back, by the way.

Aw, the fanboys are cute

It's true that egoraptor's movies are like an episode of Gilmore Girls with swearing.

AshfordPride responds:

Yeah, duh.

That's why I said it, dude.

Not funny, semi-decent animation

I really didn't get where the joke was, just because he's gay he's also sexist, harassing paeodphile? I know "it's a joke", I just don't see where the humour lies, seems like the entire plot was just to string together some lines of Dumbeldore talking dirty. This could have been done in a funny way, but this is just saying "dumbledore is gay llololol".
Nevertheless, the animation was subpar, just basic tweening of characters with some facial movements, I think if you move away from stuff like this you could make something decent.

RSQViper responds:

This was merely a short that I made. Nothing else I've ever made is like this, though I wouldn't stray from making something like this again. I thought it was a funny idea and the type of animation allowed me to make it somewhat quickly.

Thanks for the review.

Great music video, the animation suited the song

The use of gradients was good but subtle in creating the dark atomsphere, I can really see you improving with animation now, it fits smoothly together and works well.

Keep it up.

Jochio responds:

thanks Will
i should use gradients more often to be honist

Made me giggle, simple but funny.

The voice acting was the real winner in this, it was a nice simple animation with a few laughs, all in the spirit of N00bday.

Little-Rena responds:

Lol, thankyou very much, Sonicmega did a good job indeed.

Keep at it, I loved this.

I thought this was great and deserved a higher score, especially compared to alot of the sprite movies and such that get 4.00+. There's just a few points that let it down, for one the vocals were barely audible, so notch them right for a start.
Secondly, the timing was sometimes off in parts. If there's a pause for too long and it's not intentional, you should move on to the next characters dialogue.
Other than that I liked it, the graphics were good for what they were, some good fbf and smooth animation for the most part. It's no worse than mine so I'd say that's good thing.

Make more, cause I likes them.

CefyJr responds:

Thanks for the tips! And as an added bonus, you are awesome.

A masterpiece

By George this was truly magnificent, I can't believe how splendidly great it is. Seriously though, good job boys.

YoinK responds:

thanks so much!
